Top-25 Week 9

The South Florida Bulls were bleeding badly, their 2009 season was slipping away as they stared across the field at the West Virginia Mountaineers Friday night.

This Friday night, two of the Big East?s best football teams square off on ESPN2.

TAMPA, Fla.-The telephone conversations between childhood buddies have become more pointed, with West Virginia's Noel Devine and South Florida's Quenton Washington boasting about what will happen when they meet again on the football field.

The University of South Florida's football season is not dead yet, but it is on life support.

Top-25 Week 8

Dion Lewis kept up the Pittsburgh running tradition, as he ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries against the Bulls. Last year LaShon McCoy ran wild in Tampa all over the Bulls' defense. This year it was the same story, only the home version for the Panthers. Pittsburgh jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the second quarter before the Bulls could muster a drive leading to a three yard touchdown run by Mike Ford making it 14-7.

No need to sugar-coat it. No need to pull any punches.

The University of South Florida sent out its people last week, drumming up support around Tampa. Drumming is a light description. Make that imploring and begging for folks to come out and support the Bulls in their game against Cincinnati.

PITTSBURGH-The last time Pitt had a chance to be this good so late in a season, the Panthers were ranked No. 1 and Dan Marino was their quarterback.
